Finally, a truck to give the Toyota Tacoma a run for its money. We were extremely excited to get our hands on this platform and to verify its capabilities. What's even more exciting about this platform is that it comes with an optional 2.8L Duramax, which is exactly what we ordered. We went into this build plan knowing the ZR2 was going to find some long trips and needed a major overhaul in terms of comfort and storage. It needed the overlanding treatment, so to speak. After installing a set of 35-inch tires, we moved on to the bed rack and cargo solutions. There are a couple of reasons why we went with Leitner Designs for the bed rack system. The rack itself sits a little taller than most other racks and it has a plethora of accessories and mounts available. This allowed us to mount items like their lockable storage pods and a set of MaxTrax, finishing it off with 23Zero Rooftop Tent on top. In the truck bed we mounted a Dometic fridge freezer with slider mount and a Pro Eagle 2 Ton Off-Road Jack. Other trail equipment can be found within the storage compartments of this build, too many to count!
