ARB takes off-roading seriously, that's why they designed a skid plate that offers your JK more protection than any other on the market. It all starts with a longer than normal design that protects vital parts of your rig including your steering, engine oil pan, transmission, and transfer case. This longer than normal design cradles your engine oil pan on all sides for maximum protection but also allows easy access to you drain plug. Additionally the skid plate narrows as much as possible to still provide adequate protection as well as allow for the fitment of aftermarket long arm kits.
To support the longer panel ARB designed a cross-member that bolts between your JK's engine mounts. And keeping in form with providing the most over protection while still allowing superior suspension action; the design still allows the front suspension controls arms to travel up fully. Additionally the skid plate also comes with another smaller plate that protects the vulnerable charcoal canister (part of your JK's vehicle emissions system) from unwanted off-road damage.
