The Tepui Security Nut provides a nut which is significantly more difficult to remove without its matching Spanner Driver. For Roof Top Tent installations which meet available bolt length and roof clearance requirements, the Security Nuts help prevent roof top tent thefts.
Requirements
To use the Tepui Security Nuts, there must be sufficient exposed bolt thread: a minimum of 0.5" (6mm), under each plate. In addition, there must be sufficient space between the roof of the vehicle and the end of the bolt, approximately 1.5" (38mm). Additional parts required: 1/4" socket wrench and- depending on your exposed bolt length- locking washers.
